Edmonton is really starting to earn a Texan-reputation of going big. Already home to the continents biggest mall, and proud home of hockey’s biggest star, the city adds another piece to their massive puzzle with the countries largest ice castle.
The castle was created by a company called… Ice Castles and opened up earlier this month. The frozen mansion is fitted with crystal thrones, and ice slides, and is a wonder in itself to behold.
The magical collection of halls and icy towers is a thing straight out of a particular Disney movie- the one with the talking snowman. The picturesque beauty comes to life in the evening when the lights get turned on.
The castle is open for you to visit every day except for Tuesdays- because everyone should stay warm on Tuesdays. Weekday tickets are $17, and weekends cost $20 per entry. If you order your tickets ahead of time online, you can save a few dollars. Castle doors are open 4 to 9 pm Monday through Thursday, 4 to 10 pm on Friday, 11 am to 10 pm on Saturday, and noon to 8 pm on Sunday.
