Les Cuisines Gaspésiennes de Matane based out of Quebec and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) have issued a recall on Gaspésien brand ham products after an investigation uncovered a possible listeria contamination.

These products have been sold in retailers across the country.
“Food contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes may not look or smell spoiled but can still make you sick. Symptoms can include vomiting, nausea, persistent fever, muscle aches, severe headache and neck stiffness. Pregnant women, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems are particularly at risk,” warns the CFIA.
Consumers who may have purchased this product are advised to throw it away immediately or return it to the store where purchased.
So far, there have been no reported illnesses in connection with these products.
