Malala Yousafzai is the youngest Nobel Peace Prize winner in history. She is known for being an activist for female education. Her advocacy for women and children in Pakistan has grown into an international movement. She is set to appear at a fundraising gala in Toronto next week.
The gala will focus on female access to education on a global scale. Hosted by Islamic Relief Canada, the event will take place at the Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex on April 12.
Yousafzai has been recognized internationally for her advocacy on education. She gained notice when she was 15-years-old after she was the target of a Taliban assassination in 2012 while travelling home from school in Pakistan.
If you have never heard Yousafzai’s story, it is worth looking into. She is a brave woman who continues to campaign for her beliefs that all children deserve an education.
The upcoming Toronto event is bound to be an informative and powerful session. All proceeds will be put towards projects that fund girls’ education initiatives. You can find more information and purchase tickets, here.
