If you are planning on travelling out of Canada this year, you are in luck.  The Canadian passport has just moved up two spots on the International Passport Index.  Moving Canada into the fourth most potent passport available in the world.

The Passport Index determines the ‘power’ of a countries passport through a visa-free score.  This helps to a passport bearer move more easily through different countries.   The more countries that citizens can travel to without the need of a visa, the higher the score becomes. The higher the index score is, the easier international travel will be.  Currently, Canada’s visa-free score is an impressive 158, equal to our neighbours down south, and three other countries.

This year’s most powerful passport belongs to Germany with a score of 161.  This grants Germans visa-free access to a total of 161 countries around the globe.  There are seven nations behind Germany with a score of 160 and eight with 159.
